Review: Stormfront by K.R. Conway

Check out my review of Undertow (Undertow #1)  “I loved my friends. Loved everything about them. They were my world, my family, and I’d do anything for them. And Raef? Raef was so much more than my guard, more than just a boyfriend. I felt as though he was a piece of me, his heartbeat shadowing my own. He was a gift, sent from another era, to stand with me, and face Fate with me, hand-in-hand.” I absolutely adored Undertow so of course I needed to get my hands on this one! Stormfront was full of unexpected surprises, new characters, and a whole lot of action. Regarding plot, it was definitely more engaging than book one, which I wouldn’t have thought possible. The pacing in this book was fast which kept me absolutely glued to the book. I put a lot of emotional stake into what happened to the characters. There wasn’t a single dull moment in the entire book and I found myself wishing that I could read faster so I could know what happened next.  “She just went for it—for life, for new experiences. WHAT THE…” Kian nodded, ‘It got dragged out oward the west beach. MJ and I took care of it. Good work by the way.’ ‘Did you say MJ?’ I asked, floored. Did my ice cream hurling pal help move a…BODY?” This is actually the second time that I have read this novel–the review that I wrote for it the last time got lost on my old computer. But I had no qualms about reading it again because I loved it the first time! “‘What…was that?’ I asked, the fear giving way to awe. Raef lowered the mirror, content that I apparently wasn’t going to flip out. ‘The truth of what we are,’ he replied. ‘Which is?’ I whispered, leaning closer as if the walls would spill our secrets. ‘Dangerous,’ he replied.” Undertow was unique. It introduced new paranormal creatures. The Mortis: soul-stealing demons. The Lunaterra: genetic rivals of the Mortis. It was unlike anything that I have ever read and I loved that Conway was able […]
