Check out my review of Nightshade (Nightshade #1) Check out my review of Wolfsbane (Nightshade #2) Favorite Quote(s): “‘Do you think being the Scion matters to me if I lose you? Because it doesn’t. None of this matters. You’re the reason I need to win this war. I’m fighting for you. Not for the Searchers. Not for anyone else. It’s all for you.’” Favorite Character: Ren. He really develops his character over the course of the book, and we finally get an inside look on his feelings for Calla. It just made me love him even more. First Line: “I could hear each heavy beat of my heart.” My Musings: What a thrilling conclusion to an astounding trilogy! It was just the ending that I needed. It was full of unsuspected plot twists and turns, and it was a very interesting ending! The novel was filled with sad events, as you would expect at war, but I was overall happy with the way that things turned out. This novel tied up all the lose ends present throughout the series. The characters reached their full development; and we especially get more insight on some supporting characters: Ren, Ansel, and Sabine. Not who you’d expect, right? I found it very interesting that Cremer elaborated on these specific characters, but it had an overall good effect, because you could look at situations from supporting character’s […]

Check out my review of Nightshade (Nightshade #1) Favorite Quote(s): “‘What are you even doing here?’ I barred my fangs at Silas. ‘Aren’t you just a paper pusher? ‘That’s my girl.’ Connor smiled.” “‘Yeah, she is great. I spent the whole week with her.’ ‘Doing what?’ I asked, catching a growl before it left my throat. ‘Aw, you’re cute when you’re jealous.’” Favorite Character: Calla. It’s interesting to see Calla’s changing personality, and I admire her strong will and leadership. First Line: “I couldn’t shut out the screams.” My Musings: I’m writing this review super duper fast because I can’t wait to start the next book! Cremer has once again created an in-captivating world. The writing was impeccable, as always, still able to transport you into Calla’s world. The plot kept me on my toes, we met some new characters, tough decisions were made, and unlikely alliances were formed. We’ll start with the plot. Oh. My. Freaking. Gosh. So many unforeseen events! It’s like, you’re positive that something is going to happen…then it doesn’t. There were a lot of looks of disbelief as I read this book. However, there, true to form, were no dull moments–only ones that kept me wanting more! Now the characters. We were introduced to a bunch of new characters. I’d have to say that my favorite newbie would be Connor. Who doesn’t love a sense of humor when you’re in a deathly situation? But […]

Favorite Quote(s): “‘Tell me you’ll come back for the pack. For me.’ His eyes were bright with tears. ‘I don’t want to lose you.’” “Ren watched us as he leaned casually against the table, holding a pair of scissors. I’d never seen a classroom tool look so dangerous.” Favorite Character: Ren. His cocky and sarcastic exterior is very endearing, and his love for Calla is super sweet! First Line: “I’d always welcomed war, but in battle my passion rose unbidden.” My Musings: Wow. What a thrilling novel! I have to say, this was a very enjoyable read. We follow Calla Tor through her changing loyalties and perceptions about the ones that she’s been taught to believe all her life–the Keepers. It was the trinity of good books: amazing plot, strong heroine, and gorgeous (paranormal) guys! Cremer’s writing was addicting. I had to take a break about 300 pages in to do some long-waited summer work for school. Oh how I wish I had done it earlier so that I did not have to stop! But there wasn’t a moment over the week long hiatus that I didn’t think about what had happened in the novel– and what I would happen! This novel was a hardcore page turner. I zoomed through the descriptive writing that made you feel as if you were experiencing the events yourself. It was so easy to plunge myself […]
