Review: Intensity by C.C. Koen

I’m not actually sure what I feel about this novel. There were several things in it that were off-putting for me, but at the same time, I enjoyed some of it. The story follows Serena, who is in need of a job after her grandmother dies. She meets a girl who gets her into the escort business. But one little fact: Serena is a virgin. But alas, we need not be concerned: escorts in this business only have paid sex if they want to. So Serena agrees. And during her interview, she meets Linc Jefferson, owner of the club. And then things get interesting, especially after Linc deems her ‘exclusive.’ The plot in this novel was a little too fast paced for my liking. I felt like everything moved a bit too fast: the secrets, the events, the friendships, and the romance. It was a little unsettling how fast different things were happening. Serena was an okay character, I suppose. Her mind was in the right place. She was a bit too trusting for my liking, and too accepting of some of the things that were going on between her and Linc and the club. She wasn’t my favorite character, but at least she wasn’t annoying as all-get-out. Linc was kind of creepy, in my opinion. He was the tall, dark, and handsome type that broods.
