Review: Insurgent by Veronica Roth

Check out my review of Divergent (Divergent #1) Favorite Quote(s): “’We’re all right, you know,’ he says quietly. ‘You and me. Okay?’ My chest aches, and I nod. ‘Nothing else is all right.’ His whisper tickles my cheek. ‘But we are.’” “Like a wild animal, the truth is too powerful to remain caged.” Favorite Character: Tobias. He’s cute and brave and he loves Tris. First Line: “I wake with his name in my mouth.” My Musings: Insurgent was one of my top reads this year so far. Roth blew me away with Divergent. However, this novel blasted me off of the planet. Roth’s writing is brilliant. It’s unique, descriptive, and captivate. The plot over the course of this novel was astounding. There were so many twists and turns, I’m surprised that I had the ability to keep up with them. There were absolutely no dull spots within this novel. There was always something happening, and that is something that is somewhat rare in YA writing. I loved the dystopian world that Roth continued to evolve. Review: Divergent by Veronica Roth

Favorite Quote(s): “We believe in ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another.” “‘I might be in love with you.’ He smiles a little. ‘I’m waiting until I’m sure to tell you, though.’” Favorite Character: Tris. I loved seeing her grow into herself and find confidence in who she is. First Line: “There is one mirror in my house.” My Musings: I just want to start off saying that Divergent was everything that everyone said it would be. It was action packed, romance littered, and overall a really good story! I had been waiting on this book from the library for three months. When I finally got it, I hunkered down and finished it in a few days! I proably could’ve finished it in one day if not for school–it was that good! I loved the plot and the concept of the world that the characters live in. It’s futuristic, which gives it an edge. I loved the way that this novel way written. It was descriptive, and there was never a dull moment. I felt like I could relate to the characters: they were very realistic. I personally loved Tris’ character. I felt like I could put myself in her shoes; I know what it’s like to feel like you don’t belong, and working so hard for something. I enjoyed following Tris through […]
