Blog Tour: Sentinel by Jennifer L. Armentrout~Celebrating Deity

Favorite Quote(s): “Aiden had slipped under my skin, wrapped himself around my heart and embedded himself into my bones.” “That simple act stole my breath, my heart. But even as he pulled away, I realized that he couldn’t steal something he already had.” Favorite Character: Alex again! She’s growing into herself and her role in being Apollyon, and I’m loving watching her do it! First Line: “Red silk clung to my hips, twisting into a tight bodice that accentuated my curves.” My Musings: Amazing. Absolutely amazing. Words cannot describe Armentrout’s writing; if you’ve ever read any of her books, then you know. If you have not: shame on you. Go get one of her books right now. If any of you have only read the Lux series, go out and get the first novel of the Covenant series, Half Blood, right now. Armentrout has done it again. She has completely surpassed my expectations. this novel was thrilling, suspenseful, and heart jerking. Unexpected events and twists and turns in the plot kept me on my toes. It was a book that I did not want to put down. The writing was detailed and impeccable. The characters were inexplicable. Everything was just amazing. In this third novel of the series, Alex is coming more into her Apollyon nature: that is, until she finds out that someone could have been lying to her […]

Review: Elixir by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Check out my review of Half-Blood (Covenant #1) Check out my review of Pure (Covenant #2) Check out my review of Deity (Covenant #3) Favorite Quote(s): “Love is such a wild and reckless creature. It cannot be planned or threaded. It cannot be controlled. Love can coexist with Fate, or it can undo it. Love is the only thing more powerful than Fate.” Favorite Character: Aiden. He’s so sweet! First Line: “Alex clenched the titanium bars honed by Hephaestus and Apollo, amber-colored eyes burning with hate.” My Musings: I loved seeing what’s happening to Alex from Aiden’s POV. Aiden sincerely loves Alex and wants what’s best for her. He’s willing to make sacrifices he knows she will never forgive him for. He’s willing to see her in a cage. He’s willing to have she talk crap to him about how he’s not important to her. He’s willing to do anything for her. It’s amazing determination that he possesses. It’s true love that he feels for her. That much is evident through every part of this novella. Everything he does, everything he says, all goes back to Alex. “Alex, you have to be in there. I know you. My heart would not be beating if you were truly gone.” “I swore to you that I wouldn’t let that happen, and I know I’ve failed you, but I’m not going to just […]

Review: Pure by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Check out my review of Half-Blood (Covenant #1) Favorite Quote(s): “Seth threw me a mischievous grin. ‘I can’t have Marcus just walking in on us. What if I want to snuggle on these cold New York nights?’ My frown increased. ‘We don’t snuggle.’ He dropped his arm over my shoulder, and the scent of mint and something wild tickled my nose. ‘How about we cuddle?’ ‘We don’t do that either.’ ‘But you’re my cuddle bunny. My little Apollyon cuddle—’ I punched him in the side.” “’Ever since I’ve met you, I’ve wanted to break every rule.’ Aiden turned away, the muscles in his neck tensing. He sighed. ‘You’ll become the center of someone’s world one day. And he’ll be the luckiest son of a bitch on this earth.’” Favorite Character: Seth. Like in Half-Blood, his cocky and sarcastic persona reeled me in. I found myself wanting more of Seth, and less of everyone else. First Line: “I stared at the ceiling of the gymnasium, little black splotches dancing in front of me.” My Musings: This series just keeps getting better and better. This book was a very exciting read, and I didn’t want to put it down for even a minute. In this novel, we follow Alex at the Council Session, where she learns that there is someone out there who wants to kill her or put her in servitude before she […]

Review: Half-blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Favorite Quote(s): “‘Alex, stop staring at me and do some cardio.’ He flipped another page. I blinked. ‘I hoppe that book of yours is on charm and personality skills.’” “Suddenly he bent at the waist and swooped in. He was so damn fast I didn’t even have a chance to jerk back, which by the way, is totally a natural reaction when the Apollyon comes at someone that quickly. He brushed his lips over my forehead, lingering only long enough I could be positive he’d placed a gentle kiss against my skin before straightening.” Favorite character: Seth. His annoying and sarcastic nature is very enduring, and it kept me wanting more Alex/Seth moments. First Line: “My eyes snapped open as the freakish sixth sense kicked my fight or flight response into overdrive.” My Musings: Jennifer L. Armentrout has done it again—this book had me completely hooked! I was so hooked on Obsidian, I just had to start this other series by Armentrout. It was absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to finish writing up this review so I can start the next book, Pure. Alexandria (who insists on being called Alex) is a half blood—a mix of human and god. Half bloods have two choices in life: become a Sentinel or Guard, or live of life of servitude under the compulsion of an Elixir, which basically leaves them an empty shell. Alex’s […]
