Review: Whisper to Me by Christina Lee

Check out my review of All of You (Between Breaths #1) Check out my review of Before You Break (Between Breaths #2)  “The realization that I had fallen in love with Kai was so raw, so visceral, I felt it deep in my guy. It was so commanding that I pulled my knees toward my chest, my muscles stiff and aching from the effort. Kai was an essential part of my life. As central as the very air I breathed.” I have enjoyed every single one of Christina Lee’s Between Breaths novels and this one was no exception. This novel follows Rachel as she ventures back to her hometown for break. What her friends in the other novels don’t know is that Rachel had an accident before she left for college—an accident that almost left her dead and left her boyfriend-less. But as break goes on, the secrets that Rachel has tried so hard to keep, including her friendship with her best friend’s brother, Kai, are close to being revealed. This novel was different than the others because it involved some major secret keeping and it took place outside of the university that the main characters attend. This novel gave you the thrill of Rachel’s secret being kept and wondering just how long she would be able to keep it. These secrets, of course, also created some drama that kept the novel […]

Review: Before You Break by Christina Lee

Check out my review of All of You (Between Breaths #1) Favorite Quote(s): “‘We all have moments we wish we could take back,’ I said. ‘Our actions may change the course of somebody’s life, without us even realizing it.’” Favorite Character: Quinn. First Line: “‘Daddy, please. I…I need to see Christopher,’ I sobbed. ‘I need to be with him.’” My Musings: Before You Break is the companion novel to All of You by Christina Lee. Before You Break follows Avery’s best friend and roommate Ella as she struggles with her grief over her late brother’s suicide, while also helping TSU baseball player Daniel Quinn overcome the grief that he feels from losing his best friend in a car accident. Before You Break was a much deeper, more profound novel that All of You. Before You Break deals with some pretty heavy stuff that left my heart bleeding. What I liked about this novel is that the male lead was the one who was broken the most. Don’t get me wrong, Ella had a few struggles of her own, but she was the rock of this novel and their relationship. But seeing the guilt and the grief that Quinn was facing was enlightening to me in regards with the way people think and the way that people grieve. It was hard to read at times, the feeling were so overwhelming. But I believe […]

Review: All of You by Christina Lee

Favorite Quote(s): “‘There’s a saying that goes like this: The hourglass freezes in moments of sorrow. Races along in moments of bliss.’ He spun and pulled me to my feet. Cupping my cheeks, he gazed into my eyes. ‘The very concept of time is a demand. That you own it, savor it, mean it. Before you waste it…or it wastes you.’” Favorite Character: Bennett! He’s so sweet. First Line: “Love was like a loaded gun.” My Musings: This contemporary binge has led me to uncover some fantastic new novels. This was one of them. I got this novel a while back on Netgalley, but I never felt the drive to read it until now. I’m actually kind of sad that I held off for so long. All of You follows Avery Michaels, a nursing student with a penchant for one night stands. She doesn’t like losing control, so she takes it–in the form of hookups. But it’s been working for her, so she finds no need to stop. That is, until she meets Bennett Reynolds. Bennett is her new upstairs neighbor: tattooed, hot, and a virgin. That’s right, he’s been holding off for the right girl. So when Avery tries to bed him, he turns her down. But soon, they start growing closer. But Bennett is clear that he’s looking for something more than a one night of pleasure. But Avery isn’t […]
