Review: Model Position by Kitsy Clare

The reason I picked up this novel is because I saw the second book in the series’ synopsis and I was hooked. However, I had no idea that it was an actual series—I was under the impression that they were standalones. Regardless, due to my want to read book two, I picked up book one and got to it. Regardless of the interesting premise that book one, too, possessed, I just couldn’t get into this novel. The plot was less than stellar, which was a real bummer. I had to push myself to finish the novel. There wasn’t much going on, plot-wise, to keep me hooked, so everything fell on the shoulders of the characters. The characters, too, were less than I was hoping for. Sienna, the main character, seemed extremely shallow and fake to me. She was trying to use a boy in order to get a shop at a gallery opening. Sure, she apologizes later, but still. And she was a bit flaky with her romances anyway. She actually came across as a bit of a whore, which was an instant turn off for me. Erik was the main love interest—a model who also day lighted as an artist himself. He was full of mystery and secrets.
