Review: Drew + Fable Forever by Monica Murphy

Check out my review of One Week Girlfriend (One Week Girlfriend #1) Check out my review of Second Chance Boyfriend (One Week Girlfriend #2) Check out my review of Three Broken Promises (One Week Girlfriend #3) “When you struggle for something so good, so right, you cherish it more. You hold it close, nurture it, protect it, make sure you never, ever let your guard down. That’s how I feel about my almost husband.” This is the last novel (well, novella) that focuses on Drew and Fable so I positively had to read it to get some closure on this couple. Drew + Fable Forever spans a couple of years and starts a couple of years after we last saw the couple. In this novel, they do a lot of family-ish things. Drew is now a professional football player and is constantly traveling. They bought a new house, Fable is adjusting to being filthy rich, they get married, Owen is in high school then college, and now Fable wants a baby. It was a lot and that kept it interesting. There wasn’t too much drama in this novel with was a nice change from their other novels. And yet it still kept me interested just like the other ones. “Soon, I will be Fable Callahan. I’ve earned the freaking privilege to call myself that, too. It’s not easy being with […]

Review: Three Broken Promises by Monica Murphy

Check out my review of One Week Girlfriend (One Week Girlfriend #1) Check out my review of Second Chance Boyfriend (One Week Girlfriend #2) I loved Drew and Fable and the little glimpse that we got of Colin and Jen so I was very excited to get started with this one! Jen and Colin have known each other for a long time–Colin was Jen’s brother’s best friend. But Danny died, Jen ran away, and now Colin has taken her in to work at his restaurant and live with him. Both Jen and Colin have their demons to fight and those demons come in the form of Colin’s nightmares. The nightmares that Jen holds him through. There is undeniable attraction but Colin won’t let himself succumb to it. So Jen gives him a month–man up or she’s gone. This story was a lot different than Drew and Fable’s story. It was a bit darker than Drew and Fables. It was different, but I still enjoyed it all the same. The characters had a really complex background that I loved discovering. Their story was very realistic and very believable–even more so than Drew and Fable’s. The plot did, I admit, get a bit repetitive with the giving in then fighting the attraction bit, but this story did stir up my emotions and left me wanting more. Jen had demons to fight, although […]

Check out my review of One Week Girlfriend (One Week Girlfriend #1) “True love isn’t easy, but it must be fought for. Once you find it, it can never be replaced.” I loved book one, One Week Girlfriend, and I couldn’t wait to see what happened to Fable and Drew after that ending! Second Chance Boyfriend picks two months after One Week Girlfriend. Drew is locked up in his head and Fable is trying to move on but failing miserably. But her boost to moving on may come in the new job that she was offered by mysterious vigilante, Colin. So she starts working at his high class restaurant and moves on—until Drew attends a party at said restaurant and almost ends up in a fight over her. And suddenly the two are thrust back together again. Just like the previous novel, this one managed to captivate my interest immediately. This novel wasn’t as mysterious as we now know what Drew went through but it was definitely more action, complete with punches thrown by little brothers, mysterious new bosses, and a crazy woman to boot. It kept my interest just the same with its twisty-turny plot. There were some events in this novel that changed the game. Forever. Fable was much the same in this novel. She had a few weak points courtesy of her mother but she was doing […]

Review: One Week Girlfriend by Monica Murphy

“He studies me, his blue eyes dark, his head tilted to the side. I wonder what he sees. I know what I see—a confused, lonely man who won’t let anyone in. For whatever stupid reason, I want to be the one he lets in. Maybe I could help him, maybe I couldn’t, but he needs comfort. I can tell. Like souls find each other, you know. As corny as it sounds, I’m starting to believe we were brought together for a reason.” This novel had been on my To-Be-Read list for about a year now so when I was just browsing through our local library and saw the series I checked it out on a whim. One Week Girlfriend tells the story of Fable and Drew. Fable doesn’t have the best reputation in their little college town and she doesn’t have the best life—she is struggling to pay the bills while her druggie mom sleeps around and she takes care of her little brother, Owen. And a few mistakes in her past have given her the reputation as the town slut. Drew Callahan needs a favor—he needs someone to act as his girlfriend for the week of Thanksgiving as he goes and faces his family at a house that obviously holds bad memories for him—and he is willing to compensate Fable for her time. Thus begins the whirlwind week of […]
