Blog Tour Review: Losers Weepers by Nicole Williams

Check out my review of Lost & Found (Lost & Found #1) Check out my review of Near & Far (Lost & Found #2) Check out my review of Finders Keepers (Lost & Found #3) Loser Weepers was definitely a thrilling read. I didn’t know what to expect after reading the synopsis—Garth falling back into his old ways made me nervous. But the book was actually a really engaging and heartbreaking/heartwrenching read. Josie was great as always. She was tough and that definitely showed over the course of the book. She didn’t put up with Garth’s crap and absolutely did not let him push her away. Josie is one of the best female characters that I’ve read, and this book just hardened my opinion on that. Garth is involved in an accident that sends him spiraling back into his ways of assholery. I was pissed at him for the longest time! I wanted him to stop all the bullpoop. That’s actually what I loved most about this book—I literally got happy when the characters were happy, sad when they were sad, and mad when they were mad. We saw a bit more into Garth’s vulnerability, which was nice to see. We really got a close look at his psyche. He grew up in this novel. It was awesome. The romance in this book was more emotional than physical, which reminded me […]

Blog Tour Review: Three Brothers by Nicole Williams

“One of the few grains of wisdom I’d gleaned from my mom before she ended her life the summer I turned thirteen was that there were three types of men: The kind who appealed to our heads—the good guys who were safe, smart picks who’d never hurt us but would never really excite the hell out of us either. The kind who appealed to our hearts—typically the broken, damaged ones we couldn’t help but fall hard and fast for and the ones we yearned to fix. And then there were the kind who appealed to the below-the-belt region. Those were the guys with swagger in their step and a knowing glint in their eyes. They lit our worlds on fire, but like any fire that burned through its tinder, it extinguished as quickly as it had erupted. Mom had also said there was a fourth kind, although they were so rare they were more myth than reality: the kind who appealed to all three parts of a woman. She said if I ever came across one of those, I should tie myself to him so tightly, no matter what storm came, we’d never be ripped apart.” I loved the Lost and Found series as well as all of the Nicole Williams books that I’ve tried so I was very excited to give this one a try, especially because it said that […]

Blog Tour Review: Damaged Goods by Nicole Williams

Check out my review of Hard Knox (The Outsider Chronicles #1) I adored the companion novel, Hard Knox, and I was interested to see what else Nicole Williams had to bring to the table. Damaged Goods follows Liv Bennett as she drops everything in order to take care of the two younger sisters that her druggie mother abandons. It was okay, plot wise. There was definitely a plot twist that completely blindsided me in a good way. I had absolutely no idea that it was coming and I gaped at the book for a good five minutes when it happened. In terms of plot and pacing, the novel was pretty engaging. It wasn’t as action-heavy as Hard Knox. It was more an emotional journey for the characters than an action-y one. Nevertheless, it kept me engaged from beginning to end. Liv Bennett dropped everything in order to be there for her sisters. She was a selfless character who would do anything for her little sisters, as evidenced in the story. She was a bit hardened and closed off due to the environment in which she grew up. She wanted nothing more than to escape the town that she grew up in yet came back to it for her sisters. So she was a bit bitter to the town upon arrival, including pretty much every one in it, especially the Goods […]

Blog Tour Review: Hard Knox by Nicole Williams

I have adored quite a few of Nicole William’s novels thus far and I knew this one would be the same. I absolutely adored this novel! It was one of the best that I’ve read in a while. It follows Charlie, up and coming Sinclair news-journalist as she tries to figure out who is dropping date-rape drugs in girl’s drinks. All the evidence points to Knox Jagger, known for his one-night stands and fights. However, after a pill is dropped into Charlie’s cup and Knox saves her, she is convinced that it isn’t him. With more and more evidence pointing towards the hard boy she is starting to fall for, Charlie must come to discover the real truth. This novel had the perfect mix of suspense, mystery, and drama. There was a total plot twist near the end that kept me gaping. It just can’t articulate how much I enjoyed this book. I read it in one sitting and I was seriously sad when it ended. I loved trying to find out about bad-boy Knox’s past that made him the way he was and I loved watching Charlie try to find out who was committing these crimes. It definitely kept me hooked from beginning to end. Charlie was the definition of independent. She wore weird shirts to ward off guys and didn’t let anyone objectify her. She was snarky and […]

Review: Finders Keepers by Nicole Williams

Check out my review of Lost & Found (Lost & Found #1) Check out my review of Near & Far (Lost & Found #2) Favorite Quote(s): “‘Yeah, yeah, too bad for him because you’re here with me now, and I’m not letting go.’ Drawing her back to me, I lowered my mouth just outside of her ear. ‘Finders keepers.’” Favorite Character: Garth. He’s a lot more than what meets the eye, and I was really able to sympathize with him in this novel. First Line: “Trying to ignore her was like trying to ignore a bull charging me.” My Musings: I have been pining for this novel since before the day that this was actually announced as a book. I was wishing and hoping and yearning for a novel about our favorite dark and handsome cowboy. So when I missed the tour for this one, I was super bummed. But luckily, Nicole Williams is amazing and she sent me a review copy of it anyways! And you know what I did? Dove right into it. Finders Keepers is about our favorite antihero from the companion novels of this series, Lost & Found and Near & Far. It’s about him letting go on his inhibitions and learning to love, which some of us never thought that he was capable of. I’m not going to talk about the love interest right this moment, and […]

Blog Tour: Near and Far by Nicole Williams

Tour organized by: AToMR Tours Check out my review of Lost & Found (Lost & Found #1) Favorite Quote(s): “She’d always grumble a little and try to pretend she was all put out I’d risked life and limb to get to her twenty hours sooner than planned, but one smile and shrug from me melted that act. She was a sucker for my smile. It got to her. Every. Single. Time.” “‘I don’t know what all you art people call your snooz-fest get-togethers. Give me a break, rown. I don’t speak Lame.’ ‘And I don’t speak Idiot,’ I grumbled. Next time Jesse couldn’t pick me up and Garth black showed up in his place, I was hitching a ride back to Willow Springs. Or hoofing it.” Favorite Character: Jesse Walker. First Line: “Sometimes love was about compromise, and sometimes it was about sacrifice.” My Musings: I’ve been pining for this book since the moment I read the last sentence of Lost and Found–even when there was no word of whether or not there would be a sequel. So when I read Nicole’s blog post about Near and Far, I had a major freak out. When I was accepted for the blog tour, I nearly died. So when I found out I had no time at all to read this book because of school prep and college visits, I almost cried. But […]

Blog Tour: Lost and Found by Nicole Williams

Favorite Quote(s): “’We all have secrets, Rowen. Every last person on the planet. And you know what else? We all experience the same kind of things. We just go through them at different times and to different degrees…If we were to just accept that we’re not so different from each other, we wouldn’t have to feel so alone.’” Favorite Character: Jesse. He’s so wise. And cute. And sweet. Oh, and a cowboy. First Line: “There are low points, and there are low points.” My Musings: I haven’t had the chance to read any other novels of Nicole Williams’, although I’ve had Crash on my kindle app for a while now. If her other novels are as good as this one was, then I really need to be getting to those! Williams has a gift. A gift of being able to write a fantastic story with real life, relatable problems, and resolving them in an almost flawless manner. I really enjoyed this novel, and not only for the romance! This novel explored lots of deep, real life problems such as rebellion, parent neglect, and various other issues. The fact that Williams addressed a variety of problems such as these at the same time is very admirable. The characters in this novel, especially the leading lady, Rowen, we the epitome of troubled characters. And that was okay, because, as readers, we got to […]
