Review: Jaded by Mercy Amare

Favorite Quote(s): “‘You can’t please everybody. There will always be haters, and you will never measure up in everybody’s eyes. It’s insane to even try.’” Favorite Character: The mystery character I’ll talk about in the review. First Line:  “‘That’s it,’ I scream, putting my foot down.” My Musings: I requested this book because novels with rock star characters are a personal favorite for me. And to make it even better, the rock star in this novel was a girl. It flipped the table on the stereotypical rock star novel, where the bad boy rockstar falls in love with the normal, good girl. So when I read the synopsis for this novel, I was sold. Jaded follows rock star Scarlett Ryan as she takes a break from touring to finish up high school in the small town of Hope, Florida. While there, she manages to fall in like with a boy named Stephan, while also finding a family that she can truly love. Scarlett learns to fit in in her normal life. Until it all comes crashing down. Jaded was okay. I definitely wasn’t my favorite novel in the word, but it also wasn’t super terrible. It was just…average. Scarlett was a little annoying, in my opinion.
