When rumors spread like wildfire—like having three-ways with her boyfriend’s rock climbing brother—Lily Calloway spirals into a dark place. Her bedroom. Loren Hale is more confident and determined to keep their sex life private, even from their friends, and he helps Lily in the only way he knows how. But how much love is too much? Their lives are filmed, watched, and criticized. And through it all, Lily and Loren have to face enemies they never thought they’d see, demons they don’t know if they should bury, and setbacks they didn’t think they’d meet. Not this soon. And one rumor could be too much for them to handle. It will test their greatest limitations, and if they don’t hold onto each other, someone is going to drown. Review: Kiss the Sky by Krista & Becca Ritchie

“That’s the thing about being fucking smart—I understand her better than she understands herself.” “She pushes me lightly in the chest and tries not to share my smile. ‘Why am I with you? You’re so conceited, arrogant—‘ ‘Narcissistic,’ I add, ‘attractive, lovable, brilliant.’ ‘That wasn’t an invitation for you to compliment yourself.’ ‘No? My bad, I thought we were listing my best qualities.’” “Madame Charmaine sidles over to our coach and kneels in front of me. She snatches my hand and scans the lines on my palm wildly. ‘Mmm.’ I don’t like mms. They sound like unintelligible baby muttering, which is the equivalent of sticking a sharp needle in my ear.”  “I hate that I’m attracted to a man who things love is nothing but a weakness. But I also adore that there’s no one else remotely like Connor Cobalt in the world.”  “Loren frowns at Connor. ‘You really haven’t snorted coke? Not even once?’ ‘I have a rule about drugs.’ ‘And what’s that?’ ‘Don’t do them.’ He grins. ‘My body is a temple.’ ‘One that only Rose can enter,’ Loren banters. ‘I’ll let you in sometime, darling. Don’t worry.’” I adored the first two novels in this series about Lily and Lo. And on top of that, I had fallen in love with Rose and Connor, so when I saw their book, I had to request it! This novel […]

Review: Addicted for Now by Krista and Becca Ritchie

Check out my review of Addicted to You (Addicted #1) Check out my review of Ricochet (Addicted #1.5) Favorite Quote(s): “‘She doesn’t need another handout.’ He invades Sebastian’s space again. ‘You’re a lazy sanctimonious prick who profits off of apathetic trust fund babies. The students who need those exams are the ones who can’t afford them. You knowingly perpetuate a repugnant cycle.’ He stares at him like he’s shit on the bottom of his shoe. ‘You keep the rich kids stupid and the poor kids poor.’” Favorite Character: Connor…he’s funny! First Line: “Of all of the days in the month, I have to be stuck in traffic on the one that means the most to me.” My Musings: Addicted for Now was another fabulous installment in the Addicted series. I swear that these novels just keep getting better and better! In Addicted for Now, Lily and Lo are finally reunited after three months of separation. But being back together, while amazing, is not very conducive to Lily’s recovery. Having Lo back is the biggest temptation of all. But Dr. Branning, Lily’s therapist, has give Lo a blacklist, hopefully to control the situation before it get out of hand. Things are going alright until Lo and Lily start getting anonymous texts from someone who claims to know her secret. Someone who wants to take revenge on Lo, but they have absolutely no idea who it […]

Review: Ricochet by Krista and Becca Ritchie

Check out my review of Addicted to You (Addicted #1) Favorite Quote(s): “‘You’re a tool,’ Ryke says, blunt but not in a Connor Cobalt endearing way. He;s just kind of mean. ‘Why are you here again?’ Connor asks. Ryke’s jaw hardens. ‘I’m Lily’s friend.’ ‘Well, I’m Rose’s boyfriend and Lily’s friend,’ Connor says. ‘I don’t know if you’re good at math but…’ He flashes his prep school smile. Oh…Connor…” Favorite Character: Lily. She really grew over this novel. First Line: “I fucked up.” My Musings: Ricochet is a novel that takes place between books one and two of the Addicted series by Krista and Becca Ritchie. It, in my opinion, was a fantastic bridge between the novel, and kept me wondering what exactly would happen in the next novel. Ricochet focuses mainly on Lily and how she is dealing with her addiction. It’s rather hard for her, seeing as Lo is away at rehab and asked Lily to wait for him–meaning that she has to endure 90 days on no sex. “So I have to try. Even if something in my brain says go. I keep reminding myself of what waits for me if I don’t wait for him. Emptiness. Loneliness. I will lose my best friend.” In this novel, we definitely see more of Lily’s thoughts and her struggles with her addiction. This book gives the reader a sense of how […]

Review: Addicted to You by Krista and Becca Ritchie

Favorite Quote(s): “‘You two are so weird,’ Connor says, very casually. Being called weird by Connor is like a unicorn calling a horse magical. It makes no damn sense, which is why Lo and I break into smiles, even if Lo’s mood has somewhat shifted since the phone call.” Favorite Character: Lo… First Line: “I wake up.” My Musings: My goodness gracious that book was intense. Now, I’ve read a book about someone addicted to sex before. But this one just blew the other right out of the park! Addicted to You followed Lily Calloway and her best friend, and fake boyfriend, Loren Hale. See, the two of them have been hiding some things from their families–they’re not dating, for one, and they suffer from addictions. That’s right. Loren is an in-the-closet alcoholic and Lily is a sex addict. But they’re been hiding it for three years now, what could possibly go wrong? When real feelings start coming to the surface, things just get a thousand times more complicated. “I inhale strongly, trying to let his comment brush off my shoulders. Trying to ignore his sudden moodiness. Some days, he can be sexy. Others, he can crush you with a glare.” I really enjoyed the characters in this novel. They were dysfunctional. And I’ve seemingly been on a contemporary binge, but these characters managed to hold their own. They were definitely real. […]
