Becky Wicks is a HarperCollins author going indie!

Before He was Famous is her new adult epic romance about a guy and a girl's struggle to handle the fame he finds through winning a TV talent show. There's plenty of steamy sex and suspense in there, (ah, the thrills of when best friends become lovers) and she's releasing a fantasy romance soon, too.

Becky Wicks has also written three funny travel books about her time in Dubai, Bali and South America (HarperCollins). Her first book, Burqalicious - The Dubai Diaries, her second book, Balilicious - The Bali Diaries and her third, Latinalicious -The South America Diaries are out now as ebooks - snap them up and make your feet even itchier!

Becky has also written a comedy romance with author Sarah Alderson under the name Lola Salt, called The Extraordinary Life of Lara Craft (not Croft) which should raise a giggle or two... think Bridget Jones if Jackie Collins had written it!

Blog Tour Mini-Review: Before He Was a Secret by Becky Wicks

Check out my review of Before He Was Famous (Starstruck #1) [Buy on Amazon] Check out my review of Before He Was Gone (Starstruck #2) [Buy on Amazon] When I saw the invitation for this blog tour sitting in my inbox, I was so excited to join! I have read and enjoyed both of the companion novels in this series of standalones and really enjoyed them. This marks my third Becky Wicks novel and let me tell you, it definitely wasn’t a let down! Before He Was a Secret focuses on Stephanie, who we met in Before He Was Gone. I really liked seeing how Stephanie really was as a character, because in Before He Was Gone, she was portrayed in a different light than we find her character to be in this novel. I really enjoyed being able to see the real Stephanie, because she was pretty cool! She’s just moved to Nashville in order to fulfill her dream of making it big as a singer. In Nashville, she meets Conor, who she musically clicks with. But Conor is dealing with emotional problems of his own–he’s just broken up with a long time girlfriend and no one actually knows this fact. So as Stephanie and Conor grow closer and feelings start to show up, things get a bit complicated. And then you enter Travis into the equation–a songwriter who has lost […]

Blog Tour Review: Before He Was Gone by Becky Wicks

Check out my review of Before He Was Famous (Starstruck #1) “Joshua smiles, runs his finger round the rim of the coconut. ‘Some people are summer, and some people are winter,’ he says softly after a moment, but I’m just looking at the ocean now, trying not to fall.’” I absolutely adored book one and I wanted to read Alyssa, Chloe’s best friend’s, story. Before He Was Gone had a plot that I haven’t seen in a book thus far. It centered around a reality TV show, Deserted, where a group has to survive on a deserted island and people get voted off until the last person standing wins the one million dollar prize. I had seen commercials for tv shows like this but it was so interesting to actually read the story of the players. It definitely did not lack excitement and I was glued to the book the entire read. Alyssa was the main character in this novel. Her story doesn’t start too well, with her boyfriend (the drummer in Noah Lockton’s band) breaking things off. Alyssa decides that she needs a change and applies for Deserted. She wasn’t your typical character. She reminded me of Katniss with her strength and determination to win. She was relatable and funny and an overall appealing character to read. Joshua was somewhat of an enigma in this novel. He was mysterious in […]

Review: Before He Was Famous by Becky Wicks

By now you can deduce that I am interested in any book that involves musicians. So of course I had to pick this one up, especially considering the fact that it hinted at a best friends romance. It was that and more. The story of Chloe and Noah was complicated to say the least and it hooked me in. Seeing their struggles, seeing the two of them fighting their attraction, and trying to live life in the spotlight kept me engaged from the very beginning. “My fingers twist in his curly hair. Noah Lockton scares me without even knowing it. It started when I was eleven, up in the tree house when he dangled that stupid strawberry lace in my face and snuck up on me until his actual lips were on mine and all the breath was leaving my body.” Chloe was a great character. She cared for Noah. She was excited to get a new start. She was happy and determined. On the other hand, she had a backbone and didn’t take crap from anyone, especially her ex or Noah’s ex. “All my senses are alive when she’s hurt, or sad, or angry. They always have been. Jack says we fused together with the sun and the moon when we watched the eclipse one night through her dad’s telescope; bundled up in blankets, eating s’mores, Prairie Dog sleeping […]
