Release Day Launch: Lure by Alyssa Rose Ivy

We are so thrilled to celebrate the Release of Alyssa Rose Ivy’s LURE! LURE is the first novel in her New Adult Paranormal Romance series The Allure Chronicles! Make sure you grab the prequel novella, SEDUCTION’S KISS, while it is FREE for a limited time!!! There’s danger in the beauty… Two years, six months, and twenty-five days. That’s how long it had been since I’d seen my winged hero— not that I’d been counting. I’d suffered through years of counseling just to convince my friends and family that I wasn’t crazy and knew he didn’t exist. But he did. And I was done waiting. Days after college graduation I headed back down to New Orleans to retrace my steps and find Owen again only to find my life was about to get even crazier… thanks to the most beautiful and dangerous of all paranormal creatures, the Allures. Amazon | Barnes & Noble | GooglePlay | iTunes | Kobo We stood awkwardly for another moment before I had to break the silence. “It’s been a while.” “Two and a half years.” “I thought about you the past few Halloweens.” “I thought about you more than that. It’s actually pretty humiliating now that I’m standing in the same room with you. I don’t know what I was thinking.” She looked away. “I lied.” “About?” I walked toward her. I had to wipe that regret […]

Review: Search by Alyssa Rose Ivy

Check out my review of Soar (The Empire Chronicles #1) Search is the second installment in the companion series to The Crescent Chronicles. The first novel was great, so was really excited to read book two. Search takes place after we find out that Casey isn’t exactly human—in fact, she has wings. Black ones, in particular. So of course, that creates problems, especially once they find out who her father is. I don’t want to spoil anything so I won’t talk about that point. Nonetheless, it throws a wrench in everything. I thought this installment was definitely more interesting than the previous one, especially because we have a few battle scenes and a kidnapping. It was an intense book. Casey was definitely stronger in this novel, especially given all of the knowledge that was being thrown at her. I thought she held up very well and that she handled the situations she was in strongly and bravely. I am interested to see how she will handle the problems that were presented at the end of this book. Toby was definitely the better of the two in this book. I had favored him before this installment, and even more so afterwards. Jared, on the other hand, is a total flake. My previous description of him as a jerk definitely still stands, and was even proven, in this installment. We see something […]

Review: Soar by Alyssa Rose Ivy

Soar is the first installment to a companion series to The Crescent Chronicles. I absolutely adored The Crescent Chronicles and I was curious as to what happens to the side characters in that series. Soar follows a girl named Casey, who has taken a semester off of college in order to save up money for tuition. One night while taking out the trash, she is attacked by a large wolf and her life is completely turned upside down. Soar was interesting in a different way from The Crescent Chronicles series, but I still enjoyed it. This novel had the mystery that we were actively trying to figure out: why was Casey attacked? Then throw in the cute guy who bought coffee at the coffeehouse she worked at and her somewhat-mean and creepy manager, and you have a very interesting story. Casey was a lot different than Allie, in my opinion. Casey was tough and hardworking. At first, she wanted absolutely nothing to do with all of the craziness that she was going though. I think that she adapted pretty well, especially seeing as she was attacked by a giant wolf. I liked her. She was pretty simple and funny. There are three potential love interests introduced in this novel, but based on Casey’s reactions, there were only really two options. Toby is a pteron (Allie’s ex-lover) and the guy who […]

Review: Dire by Alyssa Rose Ivy

I have read and enjoyed various novels written by Alyssa Rose Ivy, so when I saw that she had a new series, taking place in the same world as The Crescent and Empire Chronicles, I was curious as to where the story would lead. Dire wasn’t a bad book. It wasn’t, however, as enjoyable as some of Ivy’s other novels. Dire focuses on a girl named Mary Ann who takes a road trip with her long-time crush, Gage, back home. They, however, end up stranded, and are essentially kidnapped by a pack of Dire wolves. And their leader, Hunter, wants to take Mary Ann as his mate. Dire was interesting, to say the least. I felt as if there were a few fuzzy areas within the plot, which I hope will be clarified in the next novel. The pacing was good, and there weren’t many slow spots once Mary Ann and Gage met the wolves. There were a lot of things going on in this book, and I am interested to see how the plot thickens in the second installment. Mary Ann was an okay female protagonist, but she wasn’t my favorite. At moments, I found myself disliking her because I just felt like she wasn’t the brightest of characters. Also, she seemed a bit one dimensional to me. Regardless of that, she was a very caring character. She was […]

Mini-Review: Found by Alyssa Rose Ivy

Check out my review of Flight (The Crescent Chronicles #1) Check out my review of Focus (The Crescent Chronicles #2) Found is the final installment in The Crescent Chronicles, and I am so sad to see this series coming to an end! But it went out with a bang—everything culminates in this last thrilling installment. Toby has Jess as a hostage and Allie is trying to figure out just how important she is in the scheme of Pteron politics. There was a ton of action in this novel, and at times, my heart was absolutely pounding. It was definitely an interesting read that kept me hooked from page one to the very last page. Allie was particularly independent in this novel, and I liked seeing that. She took matters into her own hands, especially because things seemed to revolve around her. She was selfless and brave and risked a lot to get her friend to safety. I felt like she was truly acting as the Queen she would become. The romance between Allie and Levi was as swoony as always—that is, when they weren’t arguing. Regardless, they are one of my favorite couples of all time, so I hope that they end up making cameo appearances in the spin off series, The Empire Chronicles. It is seriously heartbreaking to let them go. Found was an amazing close to an absolutely […]

We can’t tell you enough how excited we are for Alyssa’s newest series, The Dire Wolves Chronicles!!   Amazon ** Barnes and Noble ** iTunes ** GooglePlay ** Kobo A single howl made me stop short. “The wolves!” “Let’s hope they are farther away than they sound.” Gage tightened his hold on my hand and pulled me forward. Three more howls filled the night. “They sound closer.” We picked up the pace, and I chanced a glance behind me. That was a mistake. Several large grey wolves came into view. “Run!” Gage didn’t need to be told twice. He broke into a run without letting go of my hand. I ran as fast as possible over the frozen snow, but we didn’t get far before the wolves started circling around us. “Oh my god.” Could things get any worse? “You have to make a run for it.” Gage’s voice quivered. “They’re going to kill us.” “I’m not leaving you.” I tried to stay strong, and I kept my eyes locked on the wolves. There were five of them. All of them were massive, […]

Sometimes it’s the rash decisions, like hooking up in the sand, that lead you to the best places—the kinds of places where it’s possible to let yourself fall in love again. Amazon | Nook | Itunes | Kobo | Google Play He took a strand of my hair and studied it. “Is this your natural color?” “Yes.” He dropped the strand. “I’ve never dated a girl with blonde hair.” “Well, you’re not dating me.” He gently brushed his fingers down my bare arm. “No, but I want to kiss you.” […]

Review: Focus by Alyssa Rose Ivy

Check out my review of Flight (The Crescent Chronicles #1) Favorite Quote(s): “‘Well, I love you.’ It was the third time he’d said the words, and although he said them casually, I could tell by the intensity of his gaze that he desperately wanted me to say them back to him. I’d said the words to a boy before. I’d said them to Toby so many times that they became nothing more than a greeting. Still, admitting my feelings to Levi was a big step, and I knew it was time to take it. ‘I love you, too.’ His eyes lit up. ‘I’m glad you’ve finally realized it.’” “‘Probation? That’s a new one. That could make for some interesting role play.’ His mischievous expression put me at ease. We might have been in a weird place, but he was still Levi.” Favorite Character: Levi… First Line: “‘All right, I think that’s everything.’” My Musings: Focus takes place a few weeks after Flight ended, with Allie and Hailey starting their freshman year at Tulane. Allie and Levi, of course, aren’t on the best terms due to the events at the end of Flight. However, you can still see that there is some major chemistry between the two of them, no matter how much Allie tries to fight it. In this novel, we see even more into the world of Pterons, now that Allie […]

Review: Flight by Alyssa Rose Ivy

Favorite Quote(s):  “‘Have you ever felt like your life was just a series of mistakes?’ ‘Sure I have. I think that’s what we call growing up. But sweetie, we aren’t defined by the mistakes we make, but by what we learn from those mistakes and how we move on.’” “Mom’s face turned to stone. ‘Do you mean to tell me you weren’t aware that Jess left weeks ago? You have no idea of this when you left our daughter alone in a hotel suite on Bourbon Street of all places and with Casanova over there?’ Mom pointed to Levi who smirked.” Favorite Character: Allie. First Line: “I’d sworn off men, or really boys, because those were the only types of males I tended to attract.” My Musings: Flight was a novel that I’ve had for about a year now, but have never had the time to actually enjoy. With winter break, I was finally able to hunker down and pull it out. It had a very unique premise, and I was in the mood for some paranormal goodness. “‘We’re Pterons,’ Hailey said gently. ‘Pterons?’ I asked, repeating the unfamiliar word. ‘We’re shifters, Allie,’ Levi said almost as gently as Hailey.” Paranormal goodness is what I got in full. Alyssa created her own paranormal world. From seeing the series’ covers, especially Found, I was expecting a novel about angels or fallen angels. Instead, […]

Release Day Launch + Review: The Hazards of a One Night Stand by Alyssa Rose Ivy

Be sure to check it out! It’s only 99 pennies for the time being! Colt wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me closer. “No. I’d rather bother you.” There was something kind of sexy about the motion, something more confident than his usual goofy flirting. His hand felt nice resting on my hip, so I let it stay. Was this really the same Colt? Since when did his touch have that kind of effect on me? “When did you get back to town?” “About two hours ago.” “You didn’t wait long to come out.” I took a big sip of the drink. It was starting to taste a lot better. “I took time for a shower.” “That was thoughtful of you.” “Planning on getting close to me tonight?” He watched me intently. “Maybe.” The flirtatious word flew out of my mouth without me realizing it. The alcohol and that smile of his was making me forget where I was. “Sorry.” “Why are you sorry?” He moved his hand, turning me and wrapping his other arm around me so my body was pressed against his. “Colton…” “Mallory…” I laughed. “What are you doing?” “What am I doing? You’re the one telling me you might be getting close to me tonight.” His hand slid down slightly, settling below my hip. His touch felt so good. “Your birthday passed, right? You’re […]
