He loses himself sometimes when he blacks out, but there’s only one person who can reel him back to his senses, and that’s your daughter. No one else is capable of doing that ti him.’ “‘King Derek needs Queen Sofia.’ Madeline had a sweet smile on her face as she spoke the words. She nodded as she said them, her eyes twinkling.” Favorite Character: Derek. First Line: “‘I am going to kill him!’” My Musings: Wow. Just wow. So I am writing this review not five minutes after reading the last line of this novel. Alright, so I’ve been a horrible person–I’ve been trying to get this novel read and reviewed since three days before the release date, but life caught up with school starting, and now there’s drama going on with my sport.  But I really wish I could have gotten to this one earlier. This is the first book in a few months that I’ve actually sat down and read in one 4 hour sitting. And boy did I get my fill of awesomeness! I […]

Book Blitz: To Know Me by Marcy Blesy

To Know Me by Marcy Blesy To know me is to die… Seventeen-year-old Mae is convinced that the consequences of her poor decisions have caused the untimely deaths of her dad, sister Laura, and grandma who all die within a year, no matter how ludicrous her thoughts seem to those she loves. Goodreads│Amazon “Is this for me?” I ask as Ty stands in the center of the clearing with a yellow rose in one hand. “No. It’s for that grandma who’ll be passing this area in about ten minutes. I’m just practicing my delivery.” He’s so cute when he’s being sarcastic. I take the rose. In an instant I am shocked back to the day of Laura’s funeral. Everyone in her sixth grade glass brought roses to the cemetery to lay […]

Review: A Castle of Sand by Bella Forrest

Check out my review of A Shade of Vampire (A Shade of Vampire #1) Check out my review of A Shade of Blood (A Shade of Vampire #2) Favorite Quote(s): “Let the sandcastle collapse. In its place, I will build a fortress–one that the waves of nature and time could never destroy.” Favorite Character: Sofia. First Line: “My blood was pounding within me.” My Musings: Wow! I’ll have to say that these novels keep getting better and better! Bella is weaving an incredible tale that keeps pulling me in and begging for more. A Castle of Sand leaves off where A Shade of Blood did. I can say that this is the most action packed installment thus far. There was lots going on and lots to keep up with. That was added to with more points of view. I feel like the alternating points of view gave the novel a sense of wholeness and made all of the action less confusing. The story was plotted out with what seems like great intricacy, everything weaving together perfectly. I really enjoyed the characters of Derek and Sofia in this novel. In this novel, like those past, Sofia continues to be a head strong leader. Even more so in this novel. However, we do get to experience some of her insecurities, which really humanize a her. But she doesn’t let them get her too down, and still […]

Goodreads | Amazon The evening was going about as well as I expected. How likely is it in any given mating-game situation that the wingman will fall for the girl’s moral support sidekick? In this case, given my mindset, the odds were exactly zero. With the pounding music, even trying to make idle conversation […]

Review: Endless by Jessica Shirvington

Check out my review of Entice (The Violet Eden Chapters #2)  Favorite Quote(s): “Honey and spice and all things dangerous are nice.” “‘Thanks for the outrageously fun night.’ He winked. ‘I aim to please.’ ‘Then we’re going to have to reassess your pleasure standards.’ At the smile on his face and raised eyebrow, my cheeks pinked. ‘Ah…I mean…’ ‘Goodnight, Vi.’ ‘I bit my lip. ‘Night, Linc.’” “‘What we have…We’re endless.’” Favorite Character: Violet. She’s such a strong and well developed character. First Line: My Musings: Wow. Just wow. I am still in a state of shock, and it’s been about three days since I finished this novel. So I’ve been pining for this novel ever since I finished Emblaze. I mean, the cliffy in Emblaze? Just about killed me. So anyways. When I got approved for this title on Netgalley, I was super excited! I was expecting great things, and great things were given to me. Endless follows Violet and co. as they fight to find Lilith and Phoenix and put a stop to her horrible plans of evilness. In addition, you also have the added stress of Violet’s newly found mother being taken as prisoner at the Academy in the New York. And the fact that Violet has to take classes there. And the fact that Violet’s dad has been exposed to their world. Oh, and the ever-present connection […]
