Author Interview

Here on Rampant Readers, we are honored to have the fantastic Nicole Williams on the blog today! So let’s get to it, shall we?

RR: Can you tell us a little about your upcoming novel(s)?
NW: NEAR & FAR (the sequel to LOST & FOUND) is what I’m currently wrapping up edits on and from there, I’ll be working on one of the side character’s, Garth Black’s story after that.

RR: If you could have any of your characters as a best friend, which one would you pick and why?
NW: Probably Jesse Walker from LOST & FOUND because he’s so down to earth, gives good advice without shoving it down your throat, and doesn’t take himself too seriously. He seems like the kind of person who’d be able to cheer you up even if you were in the worst kind of mood.

RR: Which character is most like your personality and how?
NW: Bryn Dawson from my Eden series I’d say, simply because she’s more reserved and quieter than most of the female protagonists I’ve written.

RR:What do you love most about writing?
NW: Being able to put my imagination into words. Being able to write whatever I want, whenever I want. The creative outlet it provides me with. Doing what I’m truly passionate about. There’s so much to love!

RR: How do you choose your character names?
NW: It’s nothing too scientific, sometimes I start writing before they’re even named because I find a character’s name comes from their personality and sometimes I need to get some dialogue going before I have a real sense of that personality. I create the character first, then pick the name.

RR: If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
NW: Dolly Parton. She is a woman I admire for so many reasons. I can’t imagine there being a dull moment during a dinner with her!

RR: If you couldn’t be an author, what would your ideal career be?
NW: Something that involves traveling. Writing travel books . . . which again links back to being an author, but it’s hard to imagine doing anything else. Nothing else seems “ideal”.

RR: If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?
NW: The power to heal with a single touch.

RR: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
NW: I love my home and where I live now, but the place I could make a second home would be Mallorca, Spain (but the flight’s insanely long) or Hawaii (more doable with flight time).

RR: Favorite food?
NW: Basil and Tomato Pizza

RR: Favorite Candy?
NW: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup

RR: Coke or Pepsi?
NW: Coke

RR: Chocolate or Vanilla?
NW: Chocolate

RR: Iphone or Android?
NW: iPhone

Let’s say a big thank you to Nicole for taking the time to answer some questions for us. Be sure to leave her some love!
