Author Interview
Today we are excited to have Jennifer Snyder on the blog! Let’s give her a warm welcome and get to it!

RR: Tell us a little bit about yourself.
JS: Well, I’m a mom of two. I have an obsession with Post-it notes. I don’t know how to swim…unless some serious doggy-paddling moves count. And I wish I could become a vegetarian, but there are just certain meats I can’t seem to give up.

RR: Can you tell us a little about your upcoming novels?
JS: At the time of answering these interview questions Conjure, the second novel in my Tethered series, was just released and I am working on the rough draft of Confined. Confined will be the third and final novel in the Tethered series. After that, I have a New Adult Contemporary idea I’m toying around with.

RR: What is your favorite part of Catalyst and Conjure?
JS: The world I created. Not just the cool beachside town of Soul Harbor, but the world of magick—both Elemental and Hoodoo. It was fascinating to research!

RR: Have you ever experienced writer’s block?
JS: With every novel I write.

RR: How do you choose your character names?
JS: Sometimes from a TV show or a movie. Others from Baby Name sites online.

RR: How did you come up with the title for Catalyst and Conjure?
JS: From within the novel itself. It came from one of the first little scrapes of notes I jotted down. All of my novels in this series have titles that come from within the novel itself.

RR: Do you prefer to write in silence or with music playing?
JS: Silence. I used to be able to write with music playing softly in the background. Heck, I used to be able to write with Dora The Explorer playing in the background. Since my youngest started school, though, I’ve become spoiled with enjoying silence too much during my day. Now, I can’t write with any noise. Nor can I edit with any noise. The only time I listen to music is when I have writer’s block and need to figure something plot wise out. I can sit with a song on repeat for hours and jot down notes, scenes, and little scraps of dialogue in my notebook but that’s about it.

RR: If you couldn’t be an author, what would your ideal career be?
JS: I’ve always really wanted to teach second grade.

RR: Do you have any pets? What are their names?
JS: One stinky male Boston Terrier named Bailey and one female guinea pig named Rose.

RR: What is one food that you will never eat?
JS: No organs!

RR: Favorite drink?
JS: Green Tea with a little honey

RR: Favorite Color?
JS: Green

RR: Favorite Flower?
JS: Calla Lilly

RR: Favorite Ice Cream Flavor?
JS: Mint Chocolate Chip

RR: Favorite Season?
JS: Fall

RR: Coke or Pepsi?
JS: Pepsi

RR: Day or Night?
JS: Day

RR: Beach or Pool?
JS: Beach

RR: Iphone or Android?
JS: iPhone

RR: Skittles or M&Ms?
JS: Peanut M&Ms
